First Time for Everything! Blogging that is....

Well I've decided to go ahead and give this blogging thing a try.  Not much goes on in my little world that people really want to know about I don't think, but I've decided to go ahead and blog about whatever happens to be on my mind that day. I think sometimes getting it all down is thearputic for me :)

So here goes:

This weekend was a pretty full weekend here at the Stevens' household.  We went to Fall Fun Fest on Friday night and had some oh so yummy ribs- probably the best ribs we've had in years from there.  Of course Brodye had to jump in the bounce houses and climb the rock wall.  Charlye jumped too.  We all were exhaused.

Then Tobin and I got up bright and early Sat AM to run in the Fun Fest 5K.  - Thanks to Chrissy Werries for coming over and keeping the kiddos at 5:45 a.m. :)  Tobin finished in a little over 33 minutes and I finished in a little under 41 minutes.  I finished 5 minutes faster than I ever ran that course while I was training.  Plus I improved my pace by 1:35 per mile.  So I was happy with those accomplishments, but I must say I was a little bummed, no a lot bummed, that the hubby smoked me and smoked me bad.... but maybe on our next 5K, I'll be better and get closer to his time.  I keep reminding myself that it wasn't that long ago that I couldn't hardly walk up a flight of stairs without gasping for air, and on Saturay I ran that 5K - (I walked about 3 minutes of it b/c my calves were locking up) - but I've run that course several times without stopping, so I CAN do it.

After that we came home, did some stuff around the house and then watched some Bama football, and I must say that was some pretty good icing on the cake!!!  I love watching Alabama win!  The boys did a camp out in the living room that night and of course Brodye loved that LOL.

On Sunday, we headed out for an awesome worship service at Poplar Grove Baptist, followed by Sunday School.  Then I sat in on the Family Meeting last night and heard what all God is doing at our church (Lisa and I are rotating - so she'll sit it on next month's meeting) He is truly moving!  Praise The Lord!  I always feel refreshed and recharged on Sundays and yesterday was no execpetion.

Now it's on to a busy week, looking forward to a "date night" in Nashville with the hubby while going to see my bff perform on Saturday!

Hope you have a blessed week.
